Everyone

Getting ready to put on my 409's oil pan and gasket. Are there any suggestions as to what to and not to do as far as installation. I would like to install it only once and I hate oil leaks.

Looked in my manuals and can not find a torque spec for the bolts, what do you guys do?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Ed

Just make sure every surface is clean, then put a bead of black or gray RTV on both sides of the gaskets paying close attention to the area around the rear main and timing cover.
I like to snug the pan down a bit and leave it that way over night then torq it down the next day. dq

The 1961 shop manual shows it to be 10 to 15 ft / lbs for the 348, should be the same for the 409.
