Someone is paying over $100 for an authentic air cleaner wing nut on ebay.
There are folks out there with much more money than sense. (IMHO)

Up to $132 now.
What the heck is so special about it??? I'm sure GM only used this "special" wing nut on those year Corvettes only.
Oh yeh, if I bought this, it would cost $8 dollars to ship it to me. :rofl

I do not know about some of you but I am heading to the scrap yard to pickup a few of those! Heck 10 - 20 of them could do wonders for the hot rod.
If you noticed there were several idiots who bid on it just waiting for another one to come along:brow

The average guy working for wages isn't dumb enough to pay that kind of money for a wingnut that was used on many GM vehicles in the 60s and 70s.:dunno

I think I need to manufacture & patent a gizmo that will bottle pure 409 exhaust fumes......
not nearly as messy as used 409 oil.

Geez! I found four wingnuts in my 409 parts stash!
I once, almost, nearly, came damned close......to listing the used oil filter from my 409 on ebay......:doh
But after my son got scolded for listing 'Absolutely Nothing' there, I chickened out.
I bid on it, too.

I have a neighbor who makes his living on e-Bay. He buys stuff and puts it on e-bay and he says if you have anything that looks religious, people go crazy. Auctions are making a lot of people money but it is driving the old car market into the stratosphere. I would like to make money but I can't imagine someone being so completely insane to pay $134 for a wingnut, a stamped wingnut at that. This thing is a hardware store item. I have what I think all you guys have, a large coffee can that I have accumilated old Chevy bolts and fasteners in for 45 years. I need to put them on e-bay, you know the waterpump bolt that has 1/4 inch bolt sticking out of the head. I have a couple of them that I'm sure some idiot, pardon, some person would give me $150 for.:rofl :rofl Roy
