Saturday afternoon, I took my 63 down the road for it's first time as the home of a 348 "W" motor. (Not a big block - see I pay attention.
Anyway, its just got a 4GC on a cast iron intake hooked up to a Saginaw 4 speed with the 3:73 rear end left over from the overdrive 6 cyl.
It's just a collection of low buck parts, but for me it was like driving a new one off the showroom floor. I still have to get a windshield installed, put the interior in and paint it, but man this 61 year old feels like a kid again. It's been 16 months to get it this far, had to cut out and weld in all new floor metal, gas tank, wheel bearings, brakes, drums, wheels & tires, radiator, you know the drill.
I thank all of you for your contributions and hope you are all as happy with your cars as I am with mine.

Attached is a pic from day one. More pics soon.

Good work on getting things to this point! Sure is fun to take 'em out, isn't it? That's the best part, enjoying the fruits of your labors :).

Now you should be so motivated that in the coming year you'll enjoy even more progress!

Cheers!

Now thats what makes me smile. Right on. How did it drive? Are you happy with the power she has? Did ya get a big nasty smoke show? That saggy and those gears she should jump pretty good. Again congrats John:cheers

Great story, Bobaloo... congratulations!!!:beerbang
Seems that those low buck, "make do with what you have" projects, are always the most rewarding:D
