Does this appear to be a 348 or am I missing something? If you read the description, it is claimed to be an old super stock engine. Has mis-matched heads. Block looks fishy.

Could it be a 348 with 409 heads and intake?:dunno F indicates its a 348. The other numbers tell its a 1960 engine. Mike, the water pump looks fishy also.

The F preceding the numbers on the left side of the pad would be a partial VIN for a Flint built car. The assembly date and QA suffix indicate a 380 hp 409. The 068 casting number also show an early 62 409 although the 88 stamped casting number is unusual it probably just reflects a mistake in loading the casting number in the mold. The 068 part of the casting number has not been tampered with and there is nothing to be gained by a counterfeiter by grinding and stamping the 88. The miss-matched heads is nothing significant for as racer.
Just my humble opinion but I don't see anything fishy. A December assembly assembly date for a November cast block is normal. I don't know what you see that makes you think it's a 60 engine unless the link I looked at is a different one.

I see the Q now. Forget about it!
