I found some pictures of the my 58 on the net when I was at the drags. There are three but I don't know how to put links to them so I will print out one. http://flatheaddrag.com/05hamb/pages/545_4522.htm then the other 2 are all the other except at the end it is /541_4159 and /544_4424 let me know if this works. I always wanted to put the car on the site but could never come up with it. You know I'm doing nothing when I can seach the net and find this.:rofl Roy

Roy,
DQ is right (I don't say that often :rofl )! They are cool!

You can also link to the pictures using img code. Here's how it works. Right click on the picture. From the little menu that pops up select "copy image location".

Now, Type:
"then in here paste the link you just copied"

Where I put the red text you paste the link you copied. I cpied links to the picture you put up and dg's. It comes out like this.

Thanks Dick for putting them on the site. The first picture is at the end when eliminations were starting. The car is just starting to lift at the launch. The picture with the flathead powered early dragster is where I have just cleaned off the tires and have hit the brakes, thats why the nose is down. That dragster must of weighted 1000 lbs because he had about a 1 sec. 60 foot time and I had to play catchup all the way down. Notice how well protected the driver is in the dragster.:rofl Anyway it was great to find pictures and thanks for the comments.:clap Roy

Roy,
Love that car.:bow For some reason I thought your 58 was an Impala. The Bel Air 2 dr HT is my favorite 58. 2dr Delray is second and Impala 3rd.

My friends used to think I was alittle off center.:dunno When the 55 came out, everybody raved about them.:clap They were OK. When the 56's came out I liked them better. In 57 everybody fell in love with the new Belair. I myself liked the 57 F*rds better. They had hooded headlights, along with those different shaped fins. Alot of people used to French those headlights.:clap But when the 58 came out, that changed everything. They were so-o-o-o COOL. Friends, they come and go. But 58 Chevys will always be a favorite of mine. Nice car ROY.:clap Skip:)

Thanks Cecil and Skip, I have always loved 58's, it was the first new car I ever bought. This is a Bel Air 2 dr hardtop with the original color scheme, although it is base coat clear coat and not acrylic lacquer. It came with a 180hp 283 and a turboglide but someone had put a castiron powerglide in it. It now has a 3X2 348 that is .040 over and a Crain 409 hp replacement cam. I have a 200-4R trans in it that has been modified with billet servo and reprogramed valve body. My old 58 had 4:56's and when you went down the road you stayed in the right hand lane at 50 mph. This has 3:73's and cruises at 70 mph at 2100 rpm much better. I was surprised that the photographer took those pictures, I don't remember it but when I'm racing I zone out and only concentrate on the starting line.:D Oh and did you notice Mickey Rooney was driving.:rofl I'm going to get a T-shirt that says "Yeah I know I look like Mickey Rooney:p Roy

Mickey...........er, Roy!!

Isn't that MoKan drag strip down at Joplin, MO?? I was down there a couple of years ago looking for Floyd and Travis Horton. Did you see them down there? Travis has a 62 with a built small block in it now.

Lookin' good my friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah Phil it is at Mo-kan in august of 2005. Travis was there and if you go to those pictures there are 2 of Travis' 62. One is it in the pits and the other is him doing a burnout at the starting line. He had a 409 with a single 4 barrel in the car at that time. I haven't taken the car to the drags since then because I just don't like to beat up a nice street car. That's why I want a race only car so there is less to mess up. I wish I had invested wisely or something so I could have 3 or 4 different cars. :D Roy
