This really was a good time there were people making passes with there whole family in the car. One man and wife had there dog with them, the dog was just barking like hell in there until the green light then it just sat up in the seat looking straight down the track it was just a hillarious site. I hope everyone goes again next year and I can get up enough courage to make a pass myself.

Addition to Dave N's comments. Couldn't agree with your more Dave. They called it " Fun" drags, but should have called it " Funny " drags. Cars you would never dream of seeing on a drag strip. All in good fun. I never did figure out how they got away with the lack of safety rules. Helmet ??? Sure , you could wear one, but few did. Example:: I saw a blown chevy roadster pull up to the starting line with two women in it. Staged the car, light turned green, and away they went. Hair was blowing in the wind. Also saw people moving to and from each side by going across the track --- in FRONT of the water boxes, and right behind the starting line!!!! Lost count of how many cars that did full burnouts with cars staged on the starting line. Everyone had a great time and fortunately , nobody got hurt. Attached is picture of a teeny weeny little car full of big dudes. Laughed till I cried. :rofl When they " launched" the car :rofl :rofl they raised their fists in the air as to show they were on a record run. :rofl Behind the little car is b-d 409 ( Dan Linington ) and toms63SSQB ( Tom Monroe ) getting ready to do battle. This event truly had something to offer everybody. Can't wait til next year.

That vehicle was an early Mini (1970s?) with the 1275cc BMC four banger in it, placed sideways. Brainchild of Sir Alex Issigonis, this provided tons of passenger spacing in an otherwise teeny car :).
So imagine the laughs when about 1200 pounds of big guys tool down the track in that car with maybe 60 horses :). I think their E.T. was 30.02 seconds :). One guy was "paddling" just off the line!
Now those next two guys up, they kicked some serious butt...
Cheers,
TomK

I really like the picture of Fred's trunk, that was a great thing to do. He would be proud, who's got the car or who takes care of it now?

I believe Fred was from the Middleton, Ohio area. My guess is he did show up at some of the events you mentioned.

Tom is right Fred was from Middletown, Ohio. Cubby Jarrett has Freds car now. He knew Fred and cared for him as we did. Cubby and his familey are great people, the car is in good hands. He told me the car will always be Freds. Bo
