Even though it's not powered by a "W" engine, I still managed to record a new best ET in my 60 BelAir. During the Nostalgia Drags yesterday in Epping, NH, I got the 3300lb beast to stop the clocks in 8.13 seconds going 169 MPH.

I should have some video clips ready tonight sometime. It sure felt great.

It was great to meet Tom (No409) at the track yesterday. I don't know if you were there for the historic event or not, but I'm glad you came over to introduce yourself.

Congratulations on your record numbers!

At 169 MPH I hope you don't include pics of your underwear :).

Cheers!

It's got to be the wings, Nice job. That is one incredible machine. Hope to get a chance to see it in person someday. Maybe on one of the fun runs I would love to get a picture of it lined up at the lights with mine. Before they turned green otherwise we would never be in the same frame. Congratulations :clap :clap :clap

You people on this board are a great group. I really appreciate the positive feedback I get, even though the only part of my car that is original is the roof and rear quarters.

I enjoy sitting back out of sight when we have some down-time at the races, and listening to some of the "experts" talk to each other. I get the biggest kick out of the ones that tell their friends how these cars are so dangerous with those wings, because back in the early 60's when these things were running up and down the highways, those wings would actually lift the rear of the car off the ground. The guy that built this car must have some secret that he's not telling anyone about how he keeps it under control. hehehe

The other one is "Hey is this one of those "W" engines?" "Nope, it's a "H" They just look at me kind of weird and just stare at me waiting for me to explain what the "H" stands for. I manage to get called away at that moment. hahaha

Well it kind of fits too. When someone asks me what size it is, and I tell them it's a 707, they always say the same thing, "That's HUGE" Eyup it is. :brow

I'm glad to hear I may have something to do with you getting on the road. I hope you can try and make it up there again on the 8th, it's a night-time race with the jet cars. Late summer night races are great for us nitrous cars, particularly during the purge. :brow This should be the run we've been waiting for since forever. :D

Holy Crap!! I thought I did it already. Sorry.

Here they are.

I included the mishap clips along with the good ones, just so everyone can see it's sometimes not as easy as it looks.

If you watch this first clip close enough, you will notice the car doing a little side to side dance.

Tough to see in this clip, but it was a repeat of what happened in the very first one.
