My wife traded in her sportster to buy me a cruiser for my upcomming Birthday ( She's a keeper), and after putting a few miles on it I will be selling my Chopper. I see many nice roadtrips in my future. I already ordered the tour pack. No more Bar hopping, it's time to hit the open road.

Tim,
What year is the Road Glide? BTW you're going to be asking yourself why you ever rode that other thing:rofl
If H-D made an Ultra version of the Road Glide I'd have one instead of my Electra Glide.

That's better than trading in for a rascal! :rofl
BTW, for anyone that doesn't know, a rascal is one of those scooter chairs. :p

Keeping both bikes would be nice, BUT that equals 2 bike payments, 2 insurance payments . That would set back my plans of getting the 60 done, and pushes way back the plans of building my new shop. Long term plan would include building a little bobber when I finish the 60 and wife's 67 camaro. Also have a 1942 45 that I plan to restore someday. Long story short 2 bikes does not fit into the plan today....not to mention I'm recently find myself between jobs, which creates a little budget misery. That "geezerglide " sure is fun to ride not to mention comfortable as hell.

For my first "midlife crisis" about 10 years ago I tricked my wife into letting me keep a 1963 Corvette. That didn't settle well, but she's slowly warming up to the fact that it will be part of our lives for a long time :).
My second midlife crisis resulted in the purchase of a 1962 SS car that I then dutifully restored/restified. She was less excited about this one, called it a "grandpa car" :). As in "I think my Grandpa had one of those". That hurt!
My third midlife crisis just might be a highway cruiser Harley, maybe one of those used sportier versions (Convertibles?). The wife is DEFINITELY against this one. Calls motorcycles "Donorcycles", as in "Have you filled your organ donor card out?". Unlike Phil's wife, and certainly Tim's, my wife will never sit on the back of a motorcycle with me. I guess that's OK, so long as I can get on when I need a fix...
How many of these (midlife crisis) are we allowed to have?
Congrats to Tim for having an understanding spouse. Wouldn't trade mine for the world, probably a good thing she has the clamps on me, or I would have one of everything that I didn't really need :).
Cheers,

My theory is to keep it up until she brings home a card with a lawyer's name on it.
:rofl
