I'm in the process of accumulating parts to put my 409 in the 62. The following shroud is on ebay and being represented as being for a 62 to 64 409. I've been following threads about the subject and this shroud doesn't look like any I've seen on the board.
Can someone identify it?

Dick looks like small block shroud. 409 shroud has only one narrow rib toward opening. Mike:)

That's not the correct shroud for a 61, 62 or 63 409. It might be a '64 shroud, they were different.

65 impala 65 66 67 chevelle. not sure about 67. don't know much about these on chevelles, but they are a little different than the impala version. Impala small/big/w had this kind of shroud. smb had air and or heavy duty cooling to get it. The radiator has a short spacer in front. std sbc had no shroud and tall spacer. BB and W had a narrow version of this shroud. that one is for a sbc

Although it looks similar to a 64 shroud, It may be a cut down small block shroud. My 409 shroud has two raised up areas, one wider than the other. Also, I don't see any mounting flange on the shroud that's pictured. Don't know if its rotted away, or what???:dunno Skip:)

If this is some help here is a 63 409 fan shroud to make a comparison.

Hope these are big and clear enough to see.

ps: Part # appears to be the same for both 348 & 409 from 59 to 63 except Z-11
