The guy who rebuilt my AFB's is not too crazy about changing the jets, says they can get boogered up fairly easy. Any of you folks who have changed your jets want to give me a tip or two or three on removal , etc?
All advice is always welcome. One is an Edelbrock one is a Carter.
Thanks in advance, (or auto zone--a little parts house humor).

Sometimes you get one that's kinda seized in there, but you should be able to get them out with the proper sized screwdriver.

I have seen a screw driver with the center ground out made for changing jets without contacting the orifice. I suppose a guy could make one using a cut off wheel and a die grinder, touch it up with a file. What you try to avoid would be damaging the jet hole. These tools would accomplish that.

Correct fit of screwdriver a must. Try using heat from a soldering gun tip placed next to jet on the aluminum. Alum will xpand and jet comes out. Worked for me after Katrina flooding on customers carbs. Mike:)

Hog woller,,, just use a good fitting screw driver and don`t worry about it.
Take your time and you won`t have any problems.
Use a little down pressure on the driver as you turn it.
I have a set of German made screw drivers that have parrallel tips and ever so rounded corners that work great for jets and other delicate screws.
American screw drivers are "V" shaped,,, and tend to "push themselves out of the screw groove,,,
Top three drivers are German,,, bottom is Craftsman (USA)
