Hello, I am trying to gather info on building a stroked 409 and a stroked 348. does anyone have any tricks or insight on these such projects? I am looking for part numbers for pistons, somewhere in the 9.5 to 10.0 comp range.what is entailed in grinding the cranks other than machining the mains? I have heard that a sbc
balancer is used, but the tdc timing mark are not correct,if so how far off are they?

409 is being stroked using 454 crank and 348 is using a 396 crank

There is lots of info here on strokers if you do a search. The kits or parts are available from Bruneau Performance or Show Cars and probably more.

I think it's off by 10 degrees (damper). Show Cars sells a corrected timiing tab. Stroker cranks and pistons also. In the long run you are better buying a whole stroker kit.
