Fatride, I know that you ran #61 jets in your tripower on the 348 and it was pretty hot. Do you think that they would be big enough for a std bore 409 truck block with 10 to 1 Ross pistons, stock thin head gaskets, so about 9.25 or 9.5 to 1 compression, 817's with some bowl work, roller rockers, MSD distributer, a dual four manifold converted to 3 X 2 with a 1" spacer and with the ports welded up, tapered and ported to match the 817's, 2.5" 340 HP exhaust manifolds. I don't know the spec's on the hydraulic cam yet but it won't be to wild. I want decent vacume & fairly good idle........... I'll post some pictures of the manifold when it's done...... it's being done on a CNC machine.

Give me an educated guess on the jets....... It's going on the dyno when it's finished and I would like to have it really close right off the bat and I don't want to have to buy to many different sizes to have on hand........ just to show the small block guys that a 409 with tripower will run......:)

Thanks in advance

Dave

I think for that level of build I would stagger the jet sizes to .061 front, .063 center .062 rear.

Thanks Fatride. Is the difference in the front & rear because of the difference in the height of the carbs?

Excuse me, I have the front and rear switched, should be .062 front and .061 rear. Under hard acceleration front runs lean.

.......... a good friend of mine said my '38 Chevy has a new name.... "Bad News" When I laughed and told him that wasn't a very good name his reply was
"it sure as H*!! is........ Bad News travels fast."

......... I'm thinking I just might be able to lift the front with the tires & gears I have planned.......:cheers
