Ss 409

Hello again!

I have another question regarding the 63 convertible I'm considering buying.
Could the car be an original 409 but not an SS and could it have an automatic in stead of 4-speed?
Unfortunately the owner doen't know much about the car so it's up to me to gather the facts.

Mike,

A 409 could have come in any body style so it doesn't have to be an SS. Automatic was only available with the 340hp 409. The 400 and 425hp 409 for that year could not be had with an automatic.

I've noted all the info gathered here and now I have several questions to ask the owner.
