Looking for a Hurst Comp+ with a bolt-on style handle. All I need is a mechanism in good condition.
I'm also looking for some misc. linkage rods. I'm doing a "custom" install and will have to modify whatever I have. Some 3-4 rods would be ideal.
Also need some shifter levers for stud-mount type transmissions. 1968 and earlier.
Any help would be great!!

Ross,
In all your shifter collection would you have an original shifter for a Saginaw 4 spd for a 66-67 Nova/Chevy II? Apparently they are different from the Muncie/Saginaw for the Chevelle-full size Chevy. They use an adapter plate to move the shifter up and forward to center in the hump but still clear the speedo cable. On the Muncie the shifter bolted directly to the forward most mounting bosses using a 1" spacer on the rear two bolts. ON the Saginaw shifter it looks like the front mounting tab is missing ffrom the shifter housing much like the rear tab is missing on the Corvette shifter housing. In fact, in the assembly manual depiction the shifter housing looks just like the Corvette with the angular ends but has a single tab on the rear instead of the front. I have fabbed the shifter adapter plate but I hate to cut off the front tab on a good shifter body if I can find an original. They seem to be extremely rare since everybody replaced them with Hurst.:scratch

Bob,
Let me know what you find! :)

Cecil,
I unfortunately don't have one of those. I've seen the muncie setup for the Chevy II but never the saginaw. The only people that I can think of that might have one, would be Chevy Ray, i8ntnuts or Bruce in Manchester Iowa. Bruce is teammuncie on eBay. Chevy Ray used to be at chevyray@prodigy.net. I8ntnuts is on eBay and a member here! You can e-mail Bruce through eBay or call him at 563-920-7255. It's a long shot but you might also try Pete at precisionpontiac.com. He's a Hurst guy but he might know someone. Best of luck!!

Phil;
The transmission is actually a NP440. Its like the A883 Mopar, New Process 4-speed but it's the same size a muncie. 4th gear is overdrive. Out of an early 80s Chevy truck. If you have some misc. Hurst stuff I would be interested!

Thanks Ross,
I've got a couple of Hursts in my collection and have no use for them. Do you have a pic or any numbers for what you're looking for? I'm pretty sure I have a bolt-on Hurst with a handle displaced to the side...also a 69 Camaro factory Hurst.
:dunno

Cecil,
The Hurst I'm looking for is like the one pictured. I don't need the stick but could also use the little "plate" that's bolted to the stick.
That Camaro shifter could easily be turned into some quick cash for one of your projects! They seem to bring good money on eBay. $200+

Ross,
I can't help. I checked my collection and realized I only have one Hurst left and it's a 3 spd. I'm sure you've been all over ebay, but I found plenty of them....also the mounting plates. I guess it depends on what you want to pay.
