I have a '65 truck engine that's going together. (truck pan) The original dipstick tube was broken when I bought the engine. I talked to show cars to be sure I got the proper replacement, had to wait quite some time because it was back ordered. The new one is 5/8 of an inch shorter than the original. Obviously the dipstick will go into the oil to far for a proper reading. I just talked to Show Cars and they tell me it is the correct dipstick tube for the all the engines, they've been selling it for 35 years and I can return it if I like but there are no other options.
I can remark the dipstick I guess. My question is: with the 656 truck oil pan is there 6 quarts in the pan with the filter full or with the filter empty??
Thanks
Dave
