View Full Version : need info on ST-500
I have an AC infrared emissions analyzer ST-500. How old is it? I will try to get a picture later today. Are they worth anything? I was going to put it in my shop as a conversation piece and hide a radio in it. Now I think I will get rid of it. I havent seen any like this in forever. Value? Working condition unknown, but looks cool! Brian. There must be some old G.M. techs here.

I was just thinking today that I would like to find a unit like that.
I'm going to be doing some supercharger experiments, it would be nice to read the mixture without having to constantly pull plugs, etc.
Nice big easy to read dials on that machine. :D

Now I see where you are, too bad you are so far away. :bang
Yes, I am in upper Michigan. You got some head gaskets from me as well. It's not all that heavy, but I do not know if the darn thing even works, or if you can get parts for it. I think it is best used for display or a shop decoration.

Originally used in a BMW dealership.
Needs some maintenance, but seems to be functional.
The seller is supposed to come up with the manuals for it. :deal

I have one also, purchased in early 70's. They were made by Cal. Equipment co.
Make a nice piece to display with car.
Do you know what years they were used?

I used mine clear up to late 80's in shop and still use it for starter draw and alt. checks. Not as Cooool as digi stuff nowdays. Sure makes an impressive volt meter.
