Take it home and put it back in the padded garage. No point going to the track and driving like Ms Daisy is in the back. I know it's worth it's weight in gold, but....why bother? Just my opinion. These cars are not fragile!

Why is the chrome Impala trim on the front fenders missing?

Maybe the alloy fenders didn't get punched for the trim. Anybody know?

Photos of the car in '63 show it had the Impala trim on the front fenders. The missing trim would indicate the car does not have it's original front fenders--- or---- is it really the Strickler car----how do we know for sure????? I realize the alum. fenders, etc. were easily damaged and may have needed replacement but you would think they would have done some research and/or noticed the original fenders had the trim and replaced it when the car was restored.

I think it's no secret that I haven't much fear of running a car hard. Also, I think I've probably made it clear how I feel about the Z11 car cult ( it's no accident that you never see me post in threads about them ).
Having said that...
If that car was mine ( which BTW, it's stunning... and sounds FANTASTIC !!!!! ), I wouldn't run it to death either. Not so much the money... but the piece of history that it is:bow

great memories and the car's value (million plus), plus it's heritage (it's the real car), makes this footage awesome to me......
beatin' the crap out of one, running an 11 something serves no purpose..(in my opinion)
Great Footage !

as far as this particular car goes I've got to agree with speed on this one. At least he will take it out to see. A friend owns a "million dollar" car and he won't take it out of it's heated/cooled environment for a cruise in!!!!!!!

 The Ol` OZ is losing his balls ?? !!! :rofl :rofl heeee heee
I would have to agree though,,, just seeing it drive down the track is cool enough !!!
Shoot, I love it when I took my 62 to the track and had a few people say if it was theirs it would be home in the garage ,, not racing down the strip !!
My answer has always been and always will be,, "Then I`m glad it`s not !!"
but,,, mine is not a Million dollar Z11 !!!:D
Just A ? is region rat the only one with real z-11 stuff that races his car hard?

look at it this way, I was not around to see Jenkins run His Z11 Impala or for that matter Ronnie Soxs Z11 or Dick Harrells 63 Z11 but thanks to Finzel we can relive some of Jenkins great racing car performance instead of just looking at the car in some museum like some old dinosaur skeleton.
And for that matter, since the car stays together on his 11 sec runs says alot about the durability of the old motors- I think Finzel is doing the right thing, your thoughts???
