Starting to have second thoughts about how I'm going to feed this little guy. It's a
348 stroked to 408, Isky 296 hydraulic, Ross 10:1. It'll run a Joe Hunt Magneto and I was planning on running Four 94's on a vintage Edelbrock c459 manifold. It's got a T-10 and Ford 9" nodular with 340 gears custom headers and the car will weigh in at about 3000#
I'm starting to think that the 4 - 94 with a total CFM of about 600 isn't going to be enough. Curt Harvey built the motor and he seemed to think 4 - 97's would work fine but I can't get a hold of him to express my concerns. This is going to be street driven with occasional strip time. What do you guys think?

Terry, try this formula. engine size (cid ) X maximum rpm. divided by 3,456 = cfm @ 100 % efficiency. The 408 will not be 100% efficient but this will give you a base line.

Terry, Would that C459 intake be the same one that Brian Thompson has and needs identifying? Could you look at his picture in a previous thread and give some imput? Thanks

Ronnie, after looking at it again I think this might be it . I'll post on his thread and send him here to look.
Here's a couple pics of my c459

Quickshift - thanks for the formula.

That really looks nice...I would have to use it as-is.

Yeah, Jimmy is the fabrication genius. Wanted this since I first saw Larry Teter's Vicky in the early sixtys. Never had the talent nor the time to build it & when I talked to Jimmy about it he was all in.

Run 6x2's and sell the Edelbrock 4x2 intake to me so I can stick a quartet 97's on it. :D
