Welcome home Denis, A question for you guys. I have new Jegs catalogue and new Summit catalogue. No mention of 348-409 aluminum heads. Intakes? yep Heads ? no.... What's the deal?? April 15 thru 17,,, 409boy and salty40 took possession of their heads. Have heard nothing about how they worked. Were there any recalls sent out? Is there a problem ? Why are they not in the new catalogues? Anybody got any facts or input?

I'll be ordering another set of Bob Walla's heads in just a few days. These will work great with Lamar Waldon / Rich Rojeski's manifold... or the large port version of the manifold I'm working on.

That's great Aubrey, BWR would be my choice too. Not sure what that has to do with my question. :dunno

just fooling around, Ronnie:p
I think the answer to your question might be:
roller cammed, 11:1, 482 inch 409, with Edelbrock top end, making an astounding 497 horsepower
maybe not :dunno
gawd I'm an a$$ sometimes

Jim and Guys!
Ahhh, life is GOODDDDDDD!!!!
I've been having the time of my life. Been to Asia and Europe 4 times since last October -- Moscow, Vienna, Kiev, Istanbul next month, Paris after that.., and also working my butt off. Here I am nearly 60 now and my office has become so busy that the only way to get away from it, well.., is to get away from the entire Continent! I got married overseas in late April.
First, Summitracing has the Edelbrock heads now... can ship by 6-20-08 if ordered today. You can buy them bare or complete. But, if complete, they will only take a maximum lift of .550".. Prices EACH are $805 bare, $1,050 complete -- an excellent price. Elelbrocks new 409 valve covers are also there, polished or black powder coated. ~$200-$300, again, better than prices we've seen elsewhere.
I did buy their new black-powder coated 2x4 air-cleaner -- it is very nice, but, fits precisely only their own new 2x4 intake (I believe). I also have a new Edelbrock 2x4 intake..., but, they come without the tin splash-pan, and that does concern me (but the bosses to screw one in place are there, if you make a custom trimmed pan for them).
Because of the limited valve lift (out of the box anyway), and also because I already have a worked set of 583's, my 3rd stroker (a 450 c.i. version -- 427 crank @ .040" over), I decided against buying the new Edel heads... Besides, I also have a new wife to feed and clothe.
But, since World Products is apparently diving in with a new aluminm block.., I just may revisit this issue later!!!
My original 55 Belair remains uncompleted  But, the engine going into it, is one of the three I have - dilemma!!!
The reason I remain undecided is because I bought a 2nd 55 Belair 2-dr post car... two frames and the body. One frame is a 56 one-piece -- mint!! And, I mean MINT!!! It is absolutely brand new - had never been on a car, ever!!! The body is ready for the last phase of rebuild -- VERY LITTLE rust... but, I bought the car as a bare gutted-out body. I've been accumulating all the do-dads, new this, new that, all put aside and ready to assemble once the body is painted.
What engine to use?? As I said, I have 3 strokers.. one 446, with the super nice-looking M/T cross-ram (I posted pictures of it before), a 482, with solid roller cam, also with a M/T cross-ram (not yet polished or coated though)..., and the 450, which is cammed exactly like the 446 is, but, will sport the new Edelbrock 2x4 intake, edel water pump, Edel 2x4 black-powdercoated air-cleaner, and PML black powder coatred vavle covers. All three engines have 'worked' 583 heads. The 446 and 450 have the new Edel water pumps.
Car and engine colors are still up in the air a bit... but, I do love the new Chevy Victory Red - REAL RED!!!
This Saturday should be the day I start getting things done. First, will be to get my original 55 up and running -- better than ever. But, it will not get the 4L60E and paddle shifter -- the 2nd 55 might get it instead. I almost dread blistering up the 2nd 55's firewall to accept a stroker 409... but, I also do not want to make a McChevy out of it either!
But, don't worry, I need to get things done pronto this time.. my new lady will not take kindly to havng me build M/T crossrams on the kitchen table!! :rofl
Anyway, I'm happy to be back...

Denis:
Welcome back to the Forum, glad to learn that things are going well. Congrats on the new marriage. I hope she likes your hobbies :).
Now I realize how you could get parts on the kitchen table, you were running solo. I get to do that when the wife makes the trek with the ladies to the beach :).
Keep us posted on your progress, and you already know how we love pics!
Best,
TomK

TOMk,
ACTUALLY, I'VE INSTALLED 3 SETS OF SHELVING IN MY 900 SQ. FT. LIVING ROOM. I JUST HAD HARDWOOD FLOORS INSTALLED THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE... NEEDED THE SHELVING TO ORGANIZE ALL THE PARTS FOR THE 2ND 55 CHEVY-2-DR POST.
MY LOVELY WIFE, THE SWEETEST WOMAN I HAVE EVER KNOWN, HAS NO PROBLEMS WITH MY HOBBY SO LONG AS SHE REMAINS MY TOP PRIORITY!
THIS PAST WEEKEND I DID START ON THE 2ND 55'S FRAME UPGRADES... MY FIRST 55 WILL BE RUNNING BEFORE JULY 4TH -- THAT'S A PROMISE!! PICS WILL COME SOON...
