All,

I just recieved my August 2008 SuperChevy and was looking forward too reading what I thought was the final series on W engines 1962-1965.

But was more excited reading about Aubrey and his 1962 Bubble Top.

Aubrey the cats out of the bag and the story was GREAT especially the 7000RPM launch!!!!!:cheers

I just got the August issue of "Street Rodder" . EIGHT pages about the "W" blocks! And Aubrey gets a lot of good press in this Mag too! Way to go Aubrey!

Aubrey how did the cam and lifter deal work out?

Quite a hassle, Jr.... The new lifters, cam ( for which Brett Conway at Performance Research, charged me $350 more than originally quoted ) retainers, valves should be shipping to me on Monday. At best, I'll receive them on Friday... MAYBE Thursday.
Then thrash to have the engine / trans back in the car, and tuned, by July 1st or 2nd... then hopefully off to Edmonton on the morning of the 4th, for the IHRA Rocky Mountain Nationals.

I haven't had a string of bad luck for a while, so I guess I'm due some:rolleyes:

I just received a couple copies from one of our members, Hogmotors. He had contacted me last week, and asked if I'd like him to send one to me. But of course:brow:bow. So, he "over night" DHL'd them to me. And 4 days later, they're here !

About the article...
It's a little "lighter" than I thought it would be. I expected more technical / specs, ect. Also, a couple slight mis-quotes... like launching at 7000 RPM:dunno :rofl
I WISH !
Had to launch the car at 3500... and it STILL tore the tires off:bang. But I DO shift around 7000.
Also, I'm not the ONLY Stocker... There's of course Gerry Gostenik in IHRA, with his GORGEOUS black 61 409 car.

Anyhow, thank you for the wishes, and thank you to SUPER CHEVY magazine, for the opportunity.
Now, for the intent to have been successful, it would be something to see a few more 409 Stockers get built:deal

I've gotten pretty good at making this faded out, old original paint... look OK:deal:p
The car really IS in exceptional original condition. But if any of you guys ever see it in real life, you'll know that it's not as good as the photos:doh
