I see on ebay that there is someone selling complete 6x2 setups for 348's that include intake, carbs, linkage, fuel line etc. How driveable is this setup? How many engine mods would be necessary to utilize that much fuel? I think the look would be killer but I would hate to fight it all the time. Anyway does anyone have any help for me here? Thanks!

From what I know with 6 carb setups on the street, they work best with smaller engines and cams that aren't too aggressive, because they need a good amount of vacuum to work nicely. Also they should be run with progressive linkage for streetablility, which is a little tough to set up but it can be done. Idle and run around off the two centers, then open up the outer four. I have one rebuilt and ready to run for a SBC that I am going to use with straight linkage on a race motor. Starting off with new carbs and parts though makes it alot easier, I had a hell of a time getting my setup to where it is now and I haven't even run it yet. The ebay setups look pretty good though, complete and ready to go. You'll need a little synchrometer to adjust the carbs the same too. It can certainly be done!

Multi carb setups don`t use anymore fuel then a single carb setup !!

Infact some will use less.

As stated you will be running on the two center carbs unless you mash the go peddle !!

IMO,,, multi carbs units work great on the street when setup properly.
tri-power units are a pretty good setup as you drive around on a two barrel untill the other two carbs kick in and I would guess that 6-2s would be just as good,,
AND ,, look KILLER !!
