I am changing a 62 Bubbletop from the stock 283 to a 409, 409hp. The origional car had power brakes but as yet I have not seem a 409 dual quad with this option. I would like to keep the car with power brakes, but I'm not sure if there will be enough vacuum to operate them. Also with the brake booster in place, I can't remove the driver's side valve cover (drippers), so am thinking of removing the booster and going with manuel brakes. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Ron

Not a problem, You should have plenty of vacc for the brakes and it`s not that hard a job or time wise to lossen the prower unit to remove the valve covers,,
I have a 62 BelAir 409 - 4sp with Power Brakes, A/C, and Power Steering. Don't have a problem. She is a real song "4Sp dual quad posi traction 409!":) I don't have to loosen the brake unit to remove the valve covers, but I do have to have #1 at TDC. Something about the valve train position, but it comes right off. I don't have raised covers though... :dunno
