Phil & Dick,
Yes, I did get the Pontiac home. We left Richmond, Va. last Wednesday afternoon, drove to about 50 miles NW of Chicago, picked the car up and arrived back Friday night about midnight.
I unloaded it Saturday morning and haven't been out to the garage since!!! I've been on the sofa with ice on my knee. I think a 1700 mile trip isn't exactly what the doctor had in mind less than 3 weeks after knee replacement.
I'm real pleased with the car, not a show car but a fully documented piece of Pontiac history, just the car that I've been looking for and wanting for a long time.
I'll post some pictures as soon as I can.
I found this interesting.....I have a 2002 F350 dually powerstroke with a 32' enclosed goosneck trailer, I've been trying to get the fuel mileage up so I put a "tow chip" in and installled a Turbo Wing. It had been getting 10.5 mph, I drove 850 miles each way, got 12.9 MPH going out there empty, 12.5 MPH coming back loaded. Pretty decent increase but not much difference between loaded and empty.

not much difference between loaded and empty.
Most of the Diesels I have owned get the same whether there is a load or empty.
