Just need to vent here. I spent about 30+ minutes in the hot sun removing a nice black dash pad from a 1978 Ford truck. I get it home, start cleaning it (gently) and a big crack developed practically in front of my eyes!! How's that for bad luck?:cuss
What should have fetched over $100 on ebay might not even get $5 bucks. (sold another just like this a few weeks ago that went for $115)
At least I only paid $5 for it but the aggravation getting it out...
Ok, I'm done now. :bang

dont give up Bob, many guys can do tricks with dash pads with covers and vinyl, had a guy redo my 67 chevelle dash pad which looked like it was ran over by a pack of elephants and turned out like new
but the bigger question is why are you screwing around with a FORD?

Fords have their uses. I sell parts from them and put the money into my Chevy's! :D
Here's a pic of the crack that developed. I sprayed cleaner on it, wiped it end to end, then resprayed more cleaner on it and there was the crack! Unbelievable. How many can say they were there at the exact time a dashpad decided to crack?
Ugh, I just got reminded of the day my mint condition original brown dash pad split in my 72 Chevelle. She was perfect and well cared for by yours truly. Was going to sell it to buy a black one when I did a color change until one day I got in and saw a big split right up the middle. :cuss I know I could have gotten alot for that dashpad being brown which is a rare color. Oh well, that's the way it goes...
I'm certainly going to rethink buying a used dash pad online after seeing this. I'm just glad it split while I was cleaning it and not during the shipping process. The buyer would have thought I lied and I would have probably thought the same about him. Would not have been pretty...

Your right Phil. I'll sell anything to make money for my beloved Chevy's! If the junkyard has it and I think it will sell for a profit, I bring it home! :D:rofl
In fact, I'm getting ready to list some Isuzu tail lights!!! :p

GAWD....................I started saying about 10 years ago that the Chevy NOS parts would dry up and we wouldn't have anything sell. I said "I'm starting to save Isuzu quarter panels to sell in the future"!!!!!!!!!!!:rofl:rofl:rofl At least in my case.........I won't go that far!!!!
