Hey guys,You know we all have been on top of the "W" Block thing for years. We love their looks, their sound, their performance, and the attention they always get at shows. Have you all noticed how much more interest in the "W" Block and 1958-1965 Chevies in the last 6-8 years. In the last 8 months all kinds of products coming out, nice articles in magazines and even a couple of mentions of our web sight. Well in this month's issue of Muscle Car Review(September 2008),there is 17 pages of "W" engines,Z-11 Cars,High Performance State Police Cars,Early race cars and some great GM Advertisements from yesteryear. Out of 98 pages total in the magazine almost 20% is on our favorite cars and engines.I'd recommend picking this magazine up,well worth the $5.99 price. Its kind of cool, seeing the rest of the world hooking up to what we all been knowing for years.Down side:More people get turned onto our engines, the less we will be able to find in our searches, the higher the price goes. I bought it last night.... Good publicity but will drive up prices for sure. I just hope it doesn't affect 65's too much until I find "the right one"

Thanks for mentioning that, I need a bit of cheer right now, might just do the trick. I can't remember which place has MCR, but I think Barnes and Noble might carry that issue, will check it out!
Best,

When I read an article by "experts" a couple of years ago stating that the '59 Cadillac and it's "outlandish" fins was one of the ten ugliest cars ever built I KNEW cars with fins were going to get expensive!
Kind of like movie reviews, if the experts hate it, it's probably pretty good.
I knew I needed to find a finned car ASAP if I was ever going to have one.
The 59 caddy prices were already insane, "Christine" maxed out the Plymouth prices, Buick and Olds are nearly impossible to find.
I had a 59 El Camino before, they are handy vehicles, don't carry excessive numbers of passengers, the styling is plenty outrageous, and parts are reasonably available.
So that's what I sought out.
I've only had my '59 El Camino less than two years, but in that time I have seen cars far worse than mine begin to sell for twice what I paid.
So if your looking for ANY particular pre-Nader, Pre-Smog, Pre-computer car, GET IT NOW! :deal

A great magazine issue for sure but in my opinion the story about the TN State Trooper car is b.s. Examples: the original red paint color and re-paint story, the reason for the 14" tires, the retail car speedometer, purchased by the state to catch moonshiners (with 3.70 gears ?), all stuff made up by the car owner who is a USED CAR DEALER!!
Anyone notice the air cleaner lid?
