Well DQ......I can't "really" say right now. I'm not "allowed" to post anything yet until all the "T's" are crossed and most of the "i's" have their dots!!!!
But we are making progress!! I should be able to make a public announcement in about 2 weeks. That will give you and Roy time to go out and get a good supply of Depends!!!! I need some just thinking about this!!!
Don't think you will be disappointed!!!!!!:D :D :D
You will be the FIRST to know!!!!

Phil, At the April Portland Swap Meet I have a stall to park my `62 in and want to have the hood open with a poster about the convention hanging on it!!
I also will have a poster about our forum.
I would suggest that others do the same at any car gatherings to spread the word.,,,,,dq

I'm flustrated!!! For all you educational aficionados of the vocabulary.....TomK and the others.....they know the correct spelling is "frustrated". But I am FLUSTRATED!!!
Had a phone call last night that we had a MAJOR hiccup with one of the "venues". I was really down coming home. Figured I had to go to Plan B. Well, got another phone call tonight.....we are back to Plan A...sort of!!
I am working to be able to post something definate next week. Basically, we were trying for the 3rd week in September. We still are. But Plan B will be the 2nd week instead. Once it's all handled, I'M WAITING TO SHOUT THE NEWS!!! Everyone whom I discussed the plans with, have been very enthusiastic about the weekend!!
Just block out September on your social calendar and you'll be OK!!!:D :D :D
I will be having flyers printed, hopefully so DQ and Tripower and anyone else will be able to have some to pass out. More on that later.
I'm just going to put a plug in here. It's been said before and will be mentioned again. BUT....we all have plans for this summer. But this event may possibly be the only gathering of 348 and 409 gearheads ( can I use that word here??!!), on this scale. Let's put it this way...the parking lot for the "car show" will hold approximately 700 cars with additional parking across the street for more...in case EVERY 348 and 409 car ever built SHOWS UP!!!!! The banquet facilities will hold, along with a "special" display.....over 700 and can be expanded to probably 2000!!!! Now I know that's not reasonable to expect but we are trying to accomodate any group that shows up. Back to your plans, there will never be another FIRST TIME 348-409 National Convention. If you are into this 348 & 409 "W Brotherhood" as we all are, don't get caught wishing you had been here after it's all over!! We are planning to have "something for everybody" to do!!! There are alot of "first times" for all of us here..I remember the very first swap meet I went to 25 years ago, I remember my very first Super Chevy Sunday at Indy that I attended, I remember the very first time I met Hayden Proffitt, and a bunch of friends on this forum, Jim Miller and Denny Ford for a few. These are priceless memories.....my point is ...the first time is important!! Try to make it!!!!!!!
Later......
PS: Bring as many cars as you can get here!!! It won't cost you any more money!!!!!!! Each of you can bring 5 if you want......IT WON'T MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE!!!!!

Phil, I, for one, want to thank you for the effort you are putting out on this reunion. Wish I were closer, so I could help. I'm going to show in a big show this weekend in Dayton. Wish I had some flyers now. Have you printed anything yet. If you have, scan and email and I will make the copies. We have several 09s around here, but the age of the people might make it hard to get them to KC. I've been working on them, though. all old hard racers.
This thing is going to be a real deal. The only thing that would keep me away, is health or the Reaper. I owe too much for the Reaper to come, so trying to keep the health up.
Haven't heard from Allen. Hey, Allen, you going to make it? You and Steve have the real deal in race cars. I would hate to not see you guys there. Won't be quite the same if you guys miss this. PLEASE TRY.
Have talked ( email ) to Aubrey about the rear end stuff he has. Might have to try something. Dearly want to make a few passes down the quarter in the 09 AGAIN. SHIFTING a 4 speed. I think I can still do it. Just hope the car is fast. Seems to be. Oh well, you all know by now, also. The older we get, the faster we were.
Fred
AGAIN, THANKS, PHIL

flustrated ...... I think that's a word Phil yeah, I think so ..... what do you guys think..... :D
Sounds like your getting the job done and don't feel like we a pressuring you .... The flyers would be a great idea, I am planning on getting the word out also at as many car shows as I can.

Thanx to all you guys who took the reins and got this thing going. I originally wasn't going to go. I thought the $100 admission was too steep. I also just found out in Dec that the company I work for full time is closing its doors in Sept. But like Phil said you gotta make the first one. And meeting some of you "gearheads"? in person will be worth the price of admission.
All us northern guys will have to get together and caravan down.

Phil. Unfortunately most of us live too far away to be of much help, but don't hesitate to let us know if you think of anything can be done from a distance. This event will definitely be the biggest thing ever for W motor fans I certainly don't want to spend the rest of my life wishing I had been there.

Phil when you get stuff sorted out email me what you would like to have printed. I am making no promises but I may be able to help.
Hey I did buy a street bike too. Not shure if I could keep up with the Harleys seeing as how it is only 80cc, but it is road legal.

Shane:
That's a good looking bike but don't think I would want to put 6000 miles on it in 3 weeks!!!! Besides...doesn't look like it has cruise control!!!!
Old age has it's benefits......gotta have my "creature comforts"!!
