In going thru some BUICK recall notices of 1965 I noticed that BUICK required the dealer to to make "prick" punch marks or "--" marks in specific spots on the VIN tag to indicate the the recall was performed on that car.
I know of two for BUICK.
Was this done on CHEVROLET also???
I have copies of these two recall notices for BUICK.

Sorry Grump. I for one have never even heard that Re:Buick's; that is interesting though!
I don't now if there were that many recall bulletins on the bowties to warrant such a procedure. The late model stuff (before computers took over) were assigned a campaign completion sticker under hood or in door jamb area.
Anyone else?

Hey Grump: I worked in the service dept in a St. Louis area chevy dealership during those years and there was no procedure to mark the vin tags for campaign completions. Only the vehicle campaign completion stickers were used and a notification to chevrolet central office was forwarded to them. What made it so confusing at times was a campaign could have been done and no sticker put on the vehicle, and we would do the campaign again and would not be paid for it. (some campaigns were inspection only, no work required). Hope this helps. ---KM---
