I do remember it being -40 when I was growing up in Montana but I`m old now and THATS way too cold !!!!
Off the Web:
Temperature Hits -20° in New England
BETHEL, ME-January 15, 2004 — As temperatures plummeted to 20 below, Maine's busiest ski resort was nearly empty Wednesday, despite the free hot chocolate and hand warmers
The coldest spot in New England was New Hampshire's Mount Washington, where the temperature dipped to a record 44 below with a wind chill of minus 100,,,http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/j/xmassad.gif

i guess i'm turning into a big sissy in my old age, it keeps going below zero here in maryland. and that's kinda unusual. they call it an Alberta clipper? they say on the news that this arctic blast were in now has originated in a place called Hanna? Alberta? Canada? where are these places? (our goat ate the northern half of our map) (we never use that part anyway) and what are they doing to start such a chill? if anybody knows anybody over there, ask 'em to turn off the fans.
Just teasin you buddy,
i'd like to come and spend half a day with you at the shop. looks like a coooooool place.
P.S. they really do call it an alberta clipper.

Bob, that damned clipper gets here FIRST, and we sure are NOT pleased with it. Tis a COOL breeze that blows in from Canada. Must be a really cozy place. You know where the three dog night came from? CANADA. We have to suffer the cold from up there, then in the summer, we have to send them some nice warm air. And, see how they repay us?????????????????????
