They are doing a 56 Chevy for a customer.

I sure wish they would mention prices. I love how the customer want a 56 Chevy and wants it done in 8 weeks so he can take it to a show! What the H#!!? He must have money falling out of his...

I wondered, as on some other shows, if the discovery channel isn't the customer? Makes for better TV if they have to have it done yesterday.

I'd like to see Boyd offer up a contest on the show to do a build up. He could take entries from the public for a normal resto, hot rod mod or one of his custom jobs. Entry would be something 'Why I want my car restored'. No time limit, car must be 99% complete, interesting type car, etc. Owner would be willing to allow it to be in shows for a specified time after the build up. I think his finances would take a real upturn if he got some big name sponsors like the other 30 minute shows on Speed Vision. Maybe he could fire his ex-wife and get another controller! She's mean with money!

Watching it now, what a hoot!. Yeah, Coddington gets a cut, but your right, this guy is paying BIG TIME!. You'd b amazed how many people are out theer that thing $50 - 75,000 is small cahnge!. How many big buck harley's do you think are out there?. Buy a stocker new for $20,000 then send it out to be "customized" for another $10,000 and that's LIGHT!. 30k for a fancy Harley?, and 40 isn't uncommon!. There are people out there who lay down $50k or a hot rod "kit car" and think nothing of it. Something like this?, maybe $75k.

As far as how long to build it, if you ever watch someone who KNOWS WHAT THEIR DOING get in and get it done you'd be surprised how quick in can go. rom what I'm seeing there's 5-6 guys available if needed. If you and/or me are doig something it's one time. If you/me/we're are getting $50+ an hour it's gonna be a LOT quicker!.

Now you can see why Codington went bankrupt a couple of years ago.
