63 Clutch linkage adjustment

Hi Everyone,
My 63 shop manual is back at home and I can't remember which nut on the upper clutch rod is supposed to have the 1/4-3/8" clearence between the swivel on the bell crank. Is it the upper or the lower? Thanks for any help.

The clearance is between the upper nut and the swivel. But, I'm thinking that 1/4 to 3/8 sounds like a lot. I was thinking 1/8 to 1/4. Not sure on that, just memory. I haven't had to adjust mine for a while, so have forgotten, I guess. I am sure on which nut to have clearance, though.

I was going off of what the manual stated for the clearance. I think I had mine a little tighter than that, though. Thanks for your help!!

Adjust the clutch to have about 1" of free travel at the pedal. That is the main thing. The gapShould get you there, but the free travel is the main thing to look for.
