In June 1995, my 1959 Impala convertible was stolen and was found a week later. It was in good shape when I got it back, but the VIN tag on the door jamb was scratched out. I've left it as is since 1995 and now I am beginning to think I should get that fixed. Is there a way to have this VIN tag replaced, using the same existing VIN#? Maybe someone is repopping the tag?

Travis,
You might want to contact a company named A-G Back East.
I dont have the contact information as my Palm-III software killed my address book :cuss , but it should be easy enough to look up
I think that they can help you...
Travis, just curious. How have you been registering it since 1995? You could have had the VIN off my Nomad, but it's been taken.
Before you inbark on such a grand adventure, I'd make friends with some clerks at the DMV. You're going to need all the inside help and karma as you possible can get!
Good luck

I just register it like normal. They don't want to see the car after you've registered it the first time. Everything I have and all my paperwork is fine... it's just that my VIN tag is scratched out. I'll try to take a picture.
