Hey guys, I just got home from a 2 day road trip to newton Pa. Im so excited I just had to tell you all. Thursday night I spotted a 348 on ebay, seemed pretty run of the mill until I looked closer. I almost fell off my chair. After a day of trying to reach the guy, I convinced the owner to sell it to me now. $900.00 got me a 1959 250hp service 348 short block, but included was a perfect M/T crossram and a virgin set of 583 heads. A few other nice odds and ends to boot. Worth the drive? It was to me!

Now that is LIVING RIGHT !!!

We are all so jealous, but now at least we know these parts are in good hands :) It's a bit like treasure hunting -- now that you've hit the jackpot we are all looking a bit harder for these pieces we need!

Best,
TomK

Hey, wait just a minute here! Pa. is my state, I should have first dibs on any deals like that. :D

You got lucky on this deal! Did the seller just not know the real value? He could have gotten much more for that lot.

morning guys, You know Bob I actually thought of you on the way out there, even checked to see where pottsville was on the map. Yes I was quite lucky and I must say its the first time I stumbled on some w-stuff that wasn't retail prices. The best part was the guy and his buddy snickering at me for driving that far for it. They had no idea what they had other than it was a "348". The small block version of the 409 he called it! Oh well, this may be may last post for a while, going under the knife for a spinal fusion in 4 hours. Hope to be back soon. Eric

:cheers

P.S. Do you think they will freak out if I bring the crossram to the hospital?
