HI Everyone,
I am trying to help a friend with a 64 SS he has. He was told that his car was originally a 409. He says that his frame has the reenforcement for the upper link for the rear end. Did only the 409 cars have this or did some 327s have this too? Thanks for anything you can share!

Other will know more but I believe it was installed late 1963 and 64 cars with 409 only. Here's a pic:

Aubrey has stated to me that all 4 speed cars got the mod post mid-year 63, but I have a late year 63 SS 327/300 4 speed and it doesn't have the reenforcement. Maybe ALL Canadian 4 speed cars got them or maybe my car is just a fluke. I always heard it was just the 409 cars that got them.

My 63 was built second week of June and does not have it. Mine is an original 400HP 4-speed.

If I can't get a quart oil can down the cylinder........I'M NOT INTERESTED!!!

Is that an old round oil can or one of the new quarts of oil? :)

I've heard it's just the 409 cars as well.
