OK, all you guys out there who drive your X frame cars or your "W" engined vehicles, when you drive 'em on the street, do you have a preferred or set route, or do you vary your "track" from day to day?

The reason I ask is that the 3-4 mile two lane blacktop just at the edge of the city/county where I live is getting a fresh topping and the "course" has just gotten even better! I do this same loop every day, from my house to the county line road, hotdog it up a bit, then return home to put her back in the garage. Lots of curves, some decent straights, and a few places where one can stop and launch hard a few times, all in a couple of miles or smooth road with few travellers and even fewer blue uniforms. Unfortunately I don't yet have a 409 running (just an old "Vette), but we're getting there with the '62SS.

When you go out for a cruise and want to nail it a bit, where do you frequent? I'd be interested to find out what sorts of places you go to enjoy your vehicles. I think I know the answer for DQ and Michael and a few others :)

Cheers!

Interesting. I am guilty of cruising the same "circuit" myself. (with all my vehicles) Mine is about 20 miles though and goes through 4 small towns. :D I think it may have to do with traffic/red lights. There are traffic lights on my route but thinking about it, they are the ones that are timed good and traffic flow is decent. Coincedence? :brow

When I get the 409 out, I usually go this same route at least once but do like to go a bit further to give it a good run. With that one, it's preferable to avoid red lights and town traffic as much as possible. It wants to run and doesn't like putt putting behind mini vans. (nor do I) :takethat

I have a few favorites, but I usually change things up a bit. I lay on my car right past the State Police post here in town and have only been hasseled once. I also have one spot out of town where I have unloaded my car and run it through the gears. I did the math because the speedo is off. 3:36 gears 27 inch tires 6,000 rpm. Well that figured out to 144! I don't think I will do that again anytime soon. :D
