I found another site that has some abandoned car pics. Click the link below and then click "still out there" and "still out there II" on the top of their page.

Wow. Looks like could be anywhere from Okanogen to the Tri-Cities.
DQ, you up for a goose-chase? Like the looks of that 59 El Camino, from the rear.

Today I went to Ricmond, MO to pick up a rebuilt 1961 B/W T-10 I dropped off several months back with Wayne Euper, "Mr. Four Speed". Wayne does trannies for the likes of Phil Reed and others. He's quite good at what he does, and his shop is a treasure trove of aluminum cased 4 speeds. I bet I looked through at least 16 cases that were just 1963 date coded alone. I hope Wayne's health allows him to make it to the Convention in 2 weeks :)
Anyway, Wayne owns a 1959 El Camino he bought new. He had originally ordered it with a 348 and 3x2 and checked the box for "four speed" but the local dealer apparently stalled when the availability of 4 speeds was limited. He ended up taking delivery of the car with a 283 and three-on-the-tree. After toasting the small block at the drags the first few months, he rebuilt the 283 and proceeded to use the vehicle as his "hauler" for his garage/repair shop that he owned in Richmond., MO. After a while the speed bug bit him, and he poppes a 409 with dual carbs, bought over the counter from the local Chevy dealer. After he wore that out he bought an L-88 (you Corvette guys know how cherished these are :)) and ordered it in pieces so he could bore it out .060" abd drag it. He sold both the 409 ($1500) and the L-88 to some guy 20 miles north. They are both long gone :(
He sold the vehicle in 1994 to a local guy, then bought it back a few years ago and began a restoration of teh vehicle. It now sports a base coat/clear coat of Black over Black and is awaitiing a 454 install. I told him he should put a "W" engine back in it, but he has already began building the BBC for it.
Look for Wayne if you need anything related to four speeds :)
Cheers,
