Thanks guys for all your replies. Pretty much narrowed my choice to either
the Wilson-Ballanger or Doug's Try Y headers. Any big advantage of one
over the other? How about fit-up to the existing exhaust system? Any
other concers I should be aware of?
I really appreciate all the help. :D :D

I was just on Show Cars site http://www.show-cars.com/exhaust.htm I noticed that the Ballengers have gone up in price a bit. I also noticed that it says 2" Ballengers would be coming soon. :dunno I liked the Ballengers but they don't work well on a convertable because of the re-enforced frame. If I was going to have them ceramic coated I might go for the Tri-Y's because you can get them already coated if you want. I remember reading somewhere that Tri-Y's work well in applications where an "H" pipe or an "X" style crossover isn't possible.

Jim-

Where'd you run into fitment issues with a convertible? I'm probably going to be attempting an install of the Ballengers in my '63 Convertible. Just want to head off any major issues while I'm trying to put these things in...

I can vouch for the fact, though, that they're nice pieces, and I do recommend, if you buy these, fitting them, then coating them. The 2 downsides of pre-coated headers is I've never seen them coated inside and out from the factory, only outside coated (Though I could be wrong), and when you clearance them, the coating can flake off. But, they're usually cheaper, and a lot more convenient...

I had to dent the tubes where they ran under the frame because the convertable frame has an extra piece of flat bar welded to the bottom of it. I think the problem was made worse in my case because of the Energy Suspension motor mounts I used. They are about 1/8" thicker than the stockers.
