Did you happen to see the 409 61 at Lousia drag strip. That were I seen my first one


Had Apache wrote on the door. There were two of them there one red & one white two Brothers. running against 2 61 ford starliner also two Brothers they had double trouble wrote on them.

I have a flyier from there dated april 26. 1964. Here is what it saids.

That's a great story, thank you. The 61 409 that I saw was at Emporia Dragstrip. It was black, don't think it had anything written on it. It was just a car that somebody drove there and raced. It was an SS, I don't think any of the racers would have made a race car out of a Super Sport. I remember that I noticed the SS emblems first, then realized that it was a 409.
I've never been to Lousia Dragway. It's not that far from where I live but don't ever remember going there.

None of the 4 were full race ,well as we know it today.I remember more about the
Chevy's than Fords muffers off and recap slicks.First slicks that I ever seen.I just remember how they sounded.The white one put it on all of them.

You know my Dad worked at Ford dealer and I did too after school.
