What is the preferred head bolt sealer??????? And valve cover gasket and sealer. Cork or rubber, and what sealer? Stuff has changed since I did this.

for head bolt sealer I always use "brush tac" comes in a can just dip the threads in as you install useing some oil under the bolt head of course. as for valve cover gaskets I like cork with some "high tac" sprayed on the valve cover side only.

Fred, for the head bolts I use Permatex form a gasket (its like brown stickey tar) For the valve covers I glue a cork gasket with 3M trim adhesive or RTF to the valve covers and put a thin coat of grease on the head side so the gasket don't stick.

I'm with Jim on this one, Permatex form a gasket for the thread sealer. Never had a problem with it! I use the Fel Pro rubber gaskets on the valve covers, their not perfect but you can reuse them a bunch of times. ;)
