Is the timing chain and gears for 348 same as small block chevy or only some of the parts like top gear is and chain is the differance? Clear up the mystery please. Thanks John:confused:

John... The parts are unique to the 348/409. In the double roller version, apparently the chain is the same as a 351W F*** !
Watch that though.... the standard truck double roller retards the camshaft by around 6 deg. :)

The cam and the crank gear are the same as a small block. They are still available in a narrow and wide version. The timing chain is the same as 6 cyl. AMC(232&258), 390&427 Ford, and 400,425,455 Olds. The 348/409 truck used a double row as CPG mentioned.:)
Thanks for the help love that 348 409 site. I picked up a 348 59 car block std. bore $100.00 at a local swap meet called Cloverdale BC. Great meet. Im getting there slowly but surely. Got my Tri power all done. Awesome ay.
Thanks again John
