348 boreing 40 over

I am going to bore my 348 out to 40 over. What is standard bore size for 348 and at 40 over how much ring end gap amnd what would the bore size be at 40 over. Do they mic the pistons and add more for space and rings? Just got the moter back today from the hot tank sure looks great. Thanks guys John:D

Stock bore=4.125+.040=4.165=354.2ci. Piston ring gap top ring,=bore size in inches x .004. 2nd ring bore size in inches x .005.

Bore 4.165 x.004=.016"= top ring, 4.165 x .005 .021"= 2nd ring.

.016" top ring , .021" 2nd ring. these are minimum clearances for a normaly asperated engine. Clearances are different for circle track, drag racing or blower, nitros engines. Different type pistons will take different side clearances, use manufacturers specs.:cheers
