Gentlemen:
I am tire and wheel shopping for 4/5 tire/wheel combinations for my 1962 SS. I currently have new radial skins over the original 14" wheels with the SS caps, but want to have another set of 15" tires and seek to put them over the classic "Cragar" 5 spoke wheels. What are some good suggestions out there in terms of sizes and widths of wheels. Suggesions on rubber choices?
Car is currently a 283 PG, will be receiving a 509 BBC with a 4 speed T-10 in June/July, eventually a QB 409/409 when completed (the modern GM crate motor is a temporary fix until I get the funds for the QB build). No I will not sell the 502 (actually it's now a "509" since it's .030" over :)) to pay for the 409 build :)
I look forward to your suggestions for wheel/rubber combinations. Driving habits will be daily local transportation, not many miles per year (less than 2500) and a few road trips here and there.
