Does anyone have a good source for headers for a 1960 chevy with a BB (396) or a set the could measure for me? I might have a set from a 1965 corvette that look right but?
Any ideas?
Also looking for:
Vacume power booster brake assembly that will fit a 60. I'm going disc up front.
Power plug from firewall for the starter - I may just redo the wiring eek!!
Drive line howto's to get rid of the two piece driveline. Or make this one survive 500hp
Swapping my ol police car for a 66 396 & M20 built and ready to go but have a few things to get yet to make it all happen.

Do a search for the drive line info. This comes up fairly often and was discussed a short time ago in length,,, dq

Inland Empire can solve your drive line Questions. They make a 2 piece drive shaft and much stronger carrier bearing. That's what I did, anyway.

The 502 drive line is a larger shaft, and 1350 joints. Looks almost bullet proof.

I had Hooker headers on a 62 Impala with a 396. They still make them I think. They were big, 2 1/8" and they hang down a bit.

I have a set of the BBC headers hanging on the wall of the garage. What do you want me to measure?

With a Big Block I think you're going to need either a small diameter brake booster or a setup that moves the booster up and to the side so that it won't hit the valve cover. With a 500hp 396 you might not have enough vacuume to opperate the booster properly anyway. In that case you could use a master cylinder that's designed for manual disc brakes. That's what I did and it works great. The key thing is that the master cylinder has a smaller piston size, about 1" I think. :scratch The power brake cylinder is bigger about 1 1/8" I think. The small cylinder makes more presure. You also use the hole that's higher up on the brake peddal. I think there's some info on this site. http://www.mpbrakes.com/

You have a set :love hmmm if you want to let loose of them they will get a good home :)
Thats a dam good idea on the booster!! ya the BBC would probably need a vacume can so a single HD type master cylinder would be better.
Anyone run the Moroso electric water pump? Not the belt driven but the internal motor type. I have a four core rad twine fans and looking at one to use instead of the belt type. Any heating issues? I am going to use the gear reduction 2hp starter so that part should be ok.
thanks
