I have Offy covers and they fit like crap on the 333 heads. First they hit the castings on the heads. So I removed the castings. Now the head mating up with the covers is off. The gaskets will not seal between the cover and the raised edge of the head. They leak bad. So I used silicon gasket in a tube. One side is OK but the other side is still leaking. its as though the valve cover is too wide at the bottom and just misses the edge of the head. We might just weld on a new wider lower lip on the valve cover, machine off and see how that works. But all said I am not pleased with Offys. Should have got the moons. Any ideas ?Thanks John :help

Johnnyrod, your not the first member to have problems with these valve covers :( I would go to the search mode and type in Offy Valve Covers I think you will find your answer there :)

I have a set on my street motor and love them. I wish my stock drippers would keep the leaks away like the offys. Look into your a little harder to see what the true problem is. I understand that anything can have a problem....but I never heard of them leaking.

What would happen if you would either surface the whole bottom flat....I know the lip would go away...but would that help to make sure there dead nuts flat? I have had to remill the gasket surface on small block ones because of the unknown hard life they have had in the past (the factory finn vett covers) But these covers were worth fixing for me...since they have some family ties to me. These were some that dad ran back in the 60's and meant something to me.
