Wow , what a great site. I had stopped to visit a few times but this is the first time I have had a reason to post. My father is restoring a 57 bel air and has a few different motors ( BB & SB) but has owned a 409 in the past. But it wasa long time ago. Although he is looking for a 409 he may have a chance to buy a348 complete tripower motor from the aircleaner to the oil pan. Now the big question , what would be resonable price to pay.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Original air cleaners aren't cheap and niether are original 3X2 systems with the original vacuum mechanism. Also, a 348 3X2 coded correctly would be worth more than a four barrel engine with added 3X2. And a solid lifter 3X2 engine would be worth more than a hydraulic lifter one. Lots of variables that need to be looked into. Is it ready to go or does it need rebuilt? Parts for 348's aren't as cheap as the ones for a SB.

I haven't seen the motor but it is supposed to be a "61 factory 3x2 motor. I have pulled the date numbers off the website , so when I can get a chance to check it out I can see if "the numbers add up"
