348-409 fan shroud

the parts books and assembly manuals show about 4 or 5 different part numbers used on our engines from 1959 to 64. i've got about ten of these things some came on my 409 cars and i have collected some through the years.there must be some differences in them. the ones i have are from 59 to 62 and they look the same to me, but i must be missing something. can anybody "PLEASE HELP"? thanks!

are you ready for this.this is what i was told today. the 1962 and 63 radiator core support has the six radiator mounting holes moved down 1/4-3/8" so the radiator will not hit the hood. and the shroud mounting holes have been moved off center so it will still be on center of the fan on all v8 cars. this is what makes the 409 shroud differant from the 348. i have 1960,61,62 and a 63 core suports in the barn and sure enough the 62 and 63 has the holes about a 1/4" lower. also now i can see all of my 62 shrouds are drilled off center. so there you have it! ( i think )
