A lot of people have experienced problems with Pertronix ignition conversions. Pertronix NOW warns against leaving your ignition switch on without engine running for more than 30 seconds and has a Pertronix II that takes care of this problem. Of course it is more money! :doh

I've had the conversion kit in 409/409 going on six years now, with fine performance. I can see where leaving the key in the on position could be a potential problem, but why would you want to when you have the accessory position also?

Steve, I had the Pooptrnix II for a very short time and had nothing but problems.
Some do some don`t.
I ran one for years in a Lincoln without any problems but won`t ever waste money on one again.

Most everyone here knows how I feel about them.
Why spend that much on a potential problem when there are better options at about the same dollar amount?

The trigger unit that Dave built has run flawlessly since day one!,,,dq

I've been running a lectriclimited conversion kit for over two years now and haven't had any trouble. It's a true one wire installation.
