I have a petronix flame thrower coil and petronix igniter 2. The spark seems weak. The coil gets very hot ,is this normal? It is too hot to handle. Its a fresh rebuild 348 with a crane cam. I have a tri power on it but only running off the center carb. The other 2 are blocked off. Any ideas ? Thanks John :help

You don't have that coil mounted on the intake manifold do you?. I moved mine to the fire wall so it would not be effected by the engine heat . It will still get nice and warm.
P,S. is it wired correctly?

I have the coil mounted on firewall. I have 12 volts going to the posative side and the petronix going to the negative side. I allso have the ignition wire going posative side. When I shake the coil it has a lot of fluid inside of it is this normal its a flame thrower.

There have been a lot of problems with both those units you have. i would email Dave (ignitionman) and ask him ,,,dq
