Thought I would share this bad experience. In 1964 when I owned my first 59 convert. I thought I would impress some kids at my now wife's high school. Well I was at a stop sign in front of the school and there had been some light showers a couple of hours earlier and there was still a wet spot about the middle of the intersection. :rolleyes: When I was sure everyone was looking I punched it and lit the tires up. :bow When I hit the wet spot you can guess what happened, :scratch no I didn't spin out but coming out of the wet spot with my tires revving I hit the dry pavement :D and my crank went in half. :cry When I began repairing the W the machine shop said they had never seen or herd of a crank breaking like that before. :takethat Needless to say the kids watching were :rofl :rofl and I was emberased. :(
