I pulled my 409 last weekend and am getting ready to disassemble. There is a small ridge at the tops of the cylinders and I am wondering the best way to get the pistons out. The ridge is pretty minor, but I can catch my finger nail on it. Will the rings get caught on it? I know not to use a ridge reamer on a w-engine. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

If you are going to rebuild it I wouldn't worry about it, they'll probably knock out ok. If it's got a ridge the rings are probably rounded at the top anyway. But then again I'm pretty crude when it comes to disassembly.
