View Full Version : Upper control arm addition
409Biscayne

I am preparing to add an additional upper rear control arm to a '62 Biscayne. I will be using a stock arm and bracket. The housing being installed already has the extra bracket attached. The installation of the front bracket looks straightforward but I was hoping to hear from those who have done this about any pitfalls I should be aware of before I begin.
Thanks.

The only thing to make sure of is where the bracket is attached at the housing. Since your bracket is already attached, you should make sure that the front bracket ends up in the same plane as the housing bracket. When I added my front bracket, I had to move it about 3/8 inch toward the outside of the car in order to line up with the housing bracket.
I actually bolted up my housing and control arm to the car and then lined up the front bracket and marked it where the holdes should be drilled.
Good luck
